Sara L founded OVKRO Genomics, on the belief that the most overlooked parts of the genome may hold the greatest keys to human resilience. Her journey into genetics wasn’t born in academia, but through a personal search; a search for patterns in health, ancestry and the rare variants that seemed to defy disease.
Before OVKRO formally existed, her findings quietly attracted the attention of senior scientists at a major pharmaceutical company, who acknowledged the novelty and possible significance of her early discoveries. That validation gave Sara the confidence to pursue a broader mission: to identify, validate and protect rare genetic variants with untapped therapeutic potential.
Over the years, she has built a growing catalogue of ultra-rare SNPs linked to protective traits in immunity, cognition and aging. OVKRO is now the platform that carries this work forward, offering curated discovery, licensing potential and a new lense on resilience in the human genome.
